December 6
Former Federal Minister of the Environment Speaks on Sustainable Development
Walter Baker Sports Center, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Barrhaven, Ottawa, ON
Longstanding environmental champion Charles Caccia will give a timely public presentation at the Walter Baker Sports Centre in Barrhaven on Thursday, December 6(7-9pm), on the challenges of sustainable development in our problematic environmental and economic world. The presentation is sponsored by the Nepean Carleton Federal Liberal Association (NCFLA) as part of its community service outreach efforts.

Currently a Senior Fellow for the Institute of the Environment at the University of Ottawa and an active member of the City of Ottawa’s Environmental Advisory Committee, Mr. Caccia is well known for his environmental advocacy during a 36 year tenure in parliament, most of which involved important ministerial cabinet posts. One of his most significant insights resulting from these many years of service to the Canadian public is the recognition that sustainable development must be premised on not only environmental but also economic and social objectives. Finding practical ways to encourage sustainable co-operation among these endeavors is the crucial challenge of our time. For more information contact Barry Cameron
