Resolution 6- Reduction of Plastic

Whereas, our faith requires us to be good stewards of all the God

provides, including the earth and our oceans; and

Whereas, the dumping of plastics of every type, including bottles,

bags, and containers in the world’s oceans is killing the oceans;

THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Alaska Synod of the ELCA urges

and supports public and private efforts to reduce, if not eliminate, the

introduction of plastics into the world’s oceans
